Kabdurakhmanov Alibek is a laureate of numerous international music competitions and festivals, winner of the State award-medal “Shukhrat”, state awards “Tasanno”, “Ekhtirom”, repeated participant in state and international projects, etc.
Kabdurakhmanov Alibek Asatullaevich was born in 1984 in Tashkent. He received his initial musical education at the Republican School of Music Students named after. General Petrov in the class of “percussion instruments” from 1995 to 2000. From 2001 to 2008, he graduated with honors from bachelor's and master's degrees at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, also with a degree in percussion instruments. He actively took part in numerous international festivals and competitions, and is a laureate of numerous international competitions, including the “Shabyt” Grand Prix, 2007 - Kazakhstan, Astana; competition “EMCY Art for music Prize”, 2nd place, prize for best performance with orchestra, Germany, Munster 2006; ethnojazz festival, Grand Prix Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, 2012. He also won the Tasanno State Prize three times (2004, 2006, 2007), and is a repeated participant in the Sharq Taronalari festival.
During these years (2005), Alibek began working as an artist in the musical theater orchestra - studio at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. And since 2007, he has already become the concertmaster of the percussion group of the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan.
Alibek's student years were marked by a thirst for interesting musical ideas and a tireless search for original sounds. Thus, in 2009, a group of student friends organized the group “Axes percussion group”, which at one time amazed the public with its extraordinary performances. At the same time, they created a parallel project, “Rhythm Palette,” to work with children, using musical education methods developed by the German composer and teacher Carl Orff.
In those years, Alibek became a member of the Omnibus ensemble, whose work was closely connected with the activities of the Ilkhom Theater. Thus, he also performed as a theater actor in several performances.
While studying at the conservatory, one of Alibek’s favorite subjects was “conducting,” which took place in the class of Professor Z. Khaknazarov. Therefore, during a period of shortage of conducting personnel in the orchestra, he began to try himself as a conductor (2014) and realized that this was his calling. So, he decided to get a second higher education and in 2019 completed a master’s degree in Opera and Symphony Conducting in the class of Professor V.B. Neimer at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan.
After this, he was appointed to the position of chief conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan, which he remains to this day.
During his time as conductor of the NSO, A. Kabdurakhmanov carried out a great deal of professional work with the orchestra, as evidenced by the high level of skill of the ensemble. As proof, we can cite the huge number of orchestra concerts with outstanding world-class musicians. Among the numerous domestic and foreign soloists with whom he conducted, one can highlight performances with Anna Netrebko, Alessandro Safina, David D'Or, Zhenisbek Piyazov, Feruza Khaldarova, Bekhzod Abduraimov, Ludovico Troncanetti, and many others.
Today, the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan is one of the most famous in the republic and beyond, thanks to numerous trips to various cities, regions, regions and countries. Among Kabdurakhmanov A.’s recent tours, one can highlight a trip in the summer of 2022 to Malta to a music festival organized by the European Foundation for the Support of Culture, where he performed with such talented musicians of our time as F. Camilleri (flute), D. Alonia (violin), F. Collie (piano).
In February 2023, the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan toured at the InClassica International Music Festival in Dubai (UAE) with a large concert program for 4 consecutive evenings with various soloists and conductors. One of these concerts was dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of Aram Khachaturian, where Kazakh violinist Aiman Musakhodzhaeva performed with the NSO as a soloist.
In the same year, Alibek performed with the NSO orchestra in Paris (as part of a UNESCO project). Conducted with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra with soloist Kirill Richter (piano); Bursa symphony Orchestra (Turkey). Among his latest concerts, one can highlight performances with famous soloists: D. Matsuev (piano, Russia), Maksim Vengerov(violin), S.Raldugin(cello), P.Milyukov(violin), L. Troncanetti (piano, Italy), V. Boi (soprano, Italy), I. M. Burgos (violin, Spain), D. Casares (guitar, Spain), Zi Zee (piano, China), Yukio Yokoyama (piano, Japan) Nikita Mndoyants (piano, Russia), J. Steckel (cello), M.S. Pietrodarchi (bandoneon, Italy), J.Najitski (violin, Poland), G. Schwabe (cello, Germany), etc.
