Luis Andrade

The Madeira born conductor and cellist Luis Andrade is one of Portugal's most versatile musical personalities. In recent years he has appeared as a conductor in the Opera production of Mozart's Don Giovanni produced in collaboration with the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra and the Stichting Aurora.
He was a guest conductor with the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, Bankok Symphony Orchestra, Limburgs Symfonie Orkest, Ensemble Lyatochinsky Kiev, Orquestra Camera Portuguesa, the Youth Portuguese Orchestra and more recently the Armenian Symphony Orchestra.
Guest performances have taken him to Europe and Asia to festivals such as the Festival International de Musica da Santarem, Bornem Festival, Dalheimer Sommer, Festival de Musica da Madeira and Festival St. Amand in France. He has performed with such Musicians as Raquel Camarinha, Eduarda Melo, Alexander Kagan, Pedro Carneiro, Carlo Marchione and Fenna Ograjensek.
He recently conducted with great success the Portuguese premiere of the Symphonic Poem “Genesis” by composer Baruch Berliner with the Orquestra Classica da Madeira.
To highlight, the close collaboration with Orquestra Classica da Madeira with whom since 2013 they have collaborated in over 30 productions.
