Mozart Evenings is proud to announce the AYSO and the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan as the official orchestras in residence for its 2025 iteration in Chieti.
As Mozart Evenings returns to Abruzzo in May 2025 for its second edition, CMDI Events is thrilled to announce that the Apulian Youth Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan will be the orchestras in residence. These orchestras, who are renowned for their outstanding performances and extensive repertoire, will play a pivotal role in this highly anticipated event, bringing Mozart's well-known works to classical music lovers in this scenic region of Italy.
The AYSO, led by Maestro Teresa Satalino, is a distinguished youth orchestra featuring talented musicians from Italy and abroad. Founded to nurture young Apulian talent, AYSO has quickly become a leading youth orchestra, recently winning first prize for the second consecutive year at the Summa cum Laude International Competition in Vienna. Competing against orchestras from Taiwan, the USA, and Spain, AYSO also impressed the international jury with their performance in the prestigious Golden Hall of the Musikverein. The orchestra has also graced renowned venues like the Smetana Hall in Prague, the Haydn Saal in the Esterhazy Palace, and the Konzerthaus in Vienna, showcasing its young musicians' exceptional professionalism and skill.
Representing the pride of Uzbekistan's national musical culture and regarded as one of the leading music collectives in the country, The National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan is a highly professional ensemble consisting of about 80 musicians. Over its 80-year history, the orchestra has participated in numerous music festivals and has collaborated with outstanding soloists, both domestic and international. The orchestra's repertoire encompasses nearly all significant works of Uzbek, Russian, and Western European classical music, with many contemporary composers trusting the orchestra to premiere their compositions. An essential aspect of the orchestra's motivations involves conducting symphonic educational programs for the youth and children.
