Led by President Konstantin Ishkhanov, along with Artistic Director Tommaso Benciolini, the festival will continue to build on the success of its previous editions with a series of world-class performances held in a setting of exceptional historical significance, with this latest entry set to be hosted in none other than the celebrated Sala Maffeiana. Forming part of the Accademia Filarmonica di Verona, this venue is famously associated with Mozart’s first Italian appearance in January 1770, when the young virtuoso left a lasting impression on the Academy and secured his place in the city’s rich musical heritage.
Now, more than 250 years later, the legendary composer’s music will be returning to this hallowed hall once again thanks to Mozart Evenings, which will be gathering together an international lineup of acclaimed musicians from all over the world to bring his timeless works to life, including amongst them violinists Daishin Kashimoto (Japan), Giuseppe Gibboni (Italy), and Anna Tifu (Italy); cellist Alexander Chaushian (UK), clarinettist Fabrizio Meloni (Italy), harpist Mirjam Schröder (Germany), and flautist Tommaso Benciolini (Italy).
Presenting a total of five concerts, these maestros will be primarily joined by the L’Appassionata Chamber Orchestra, appearing as orchestra-in-residence, with audience members also set to witness the talents of the Quartetto Pegreffi ensemble over the festival’s duration.
With tickets soon to be released, Mozart Evenings continues to reaffirm its commitment to honouring one of the most important and influential figures in the history of classical music by presenting his works in a historically-grounded context that nevertheless resonates with contemporary talent.
